What to Study
During an Ofsted inspection, our curriculum was described as the “jewel in the crown” of the school and we hope that you will be similarly impressed by the vast variety of choices that we offer. We pride ourselves on the breadth of opportunities that are available to our Sixth Form students.
Alternative to A-Levels
Our Level 3 courses offer a wide range of work-related & vocational qualifications. Many have been designed in collaboration with industry and equip you with the skills and knowledge that employers are looking for, using a mixture of theoretical and practical activities. Don’t forget: You can combine many of these qualifications with the IBCP diploma courses to benefit from this route of study.
These one year courses offer a pathway for students who wish to progress onto a Level 3 or A Level qualification or onto employment. We offer a mix of GCSE and vocational courses which allow you to choose qualifications that suit your learning style.
The Career Related Programme Core
The components of the core are at the heart of the Career Related Programme and are designed to enhance students’ personal qualities and professional development. The Career Related Programme core contextualizes the Diploma Programme courses and the career-related study and draws all aspects of the framework together. The core is designed to develop many of the characteristics and attributes described in the IB learner profile. All components of the core are mandatory. They are:
- Personal and professional skills
- Service learning
- Language development
- Reflective project
