On Monday 25th April, Homewood Sixth Form hosted its annual Careers Convention. This year’s fair was bigger and better than ever with over fifty local and national businesses, organisations, education and training providers exhibiting in the Sports Hall. Students from all year groups attended throughout the day. From sparking the imaginations of Year 7, through to engaging Year 11 and Sixth Form whose future career choices are imminent, guests provided valuable information to help plan students’ future career pathways.

This year the businesses exhibiting included: London Institute of Finance & Banking, HSBC, Channel Commercials, McCabe Ford Williams, RAF, Royal Navy and Army, Police, Hadlow College, 3D Printing and STEM, University of Reading, University of Kent, University of Brighton, British & Irish Modern Music Institute (BIMM), University of Oxford, Canterbury Christchurch University, University of Law, Kent Training & Apprenticeships.

Homewood School’s ex-student Sam Cox, better known as Mr Doodle who has made an amazing career in the Graphic Design industry also attended. His stall proved to be very popular amongst students as he shared his experiences and offered advice to students interested in pursuing their Graphic Design and Art interests.

Well done to our fantastic Year 7 Student Leaders and also College Leaders who supported the event. Thank you to all our exhibitors who offered their time voluntarily to support our students and provided excellent information about career opportunities.
