Year 11 students from Homewood School and Sixth Form Centre arrived at school throughout this morning to collect their GCSE and Level 2 results.  There was a fantastic atmosphere as students collected their results and met with staff to celebrate their achievements after what has been another very challenging academic year for all concerned.

Principal Jeremy Single said: “Following another very difficult period of time for everyone, I am extremely pleased that we were able to welcome our Year 11 students back to school today and to offer them our congratulations, as well as to help confirm their future pathways.  For the vast majority, this will be taking up a well-deserved place in Homewood’s very successful Sixth Form Centre.”

“Our approach to the Teacher Assessment Grades was to be as rigorously accurate and fair as possible.  I am extremely proud of all of the students’ achievements and very grateful to our staff for the hard work they have put in over the past five years to achieve such success. I wish all of our Year 11 students the very best of luck for their future studies.  I would also like to thank parents and carers once again for their continued support of the school, particularly so during the past 18 months.”

Amongst the top performers were: Elliot, Alex, Max, Oliver, Yasmine, Kate, Poppy (pictured), Jennifer (pictured) and Rebecca who achieved the highest overall average point scores within the cohort.  The highest number of grade 9s was achieved by Freya with five in total, and students with the highest number of total grade 7s or Distinctions and above include Hannah, William and Alicia.
