As Sixth Form students arrived at Homewood School this morning to collect their results, Principal Jeremy Single spoke of his pride in their successes. These successes continue to build on the school’s results from 2019 when Homewood was recognised as Kent’s fourth best state school for student progress at A Level in the official DfE 16-19 Performance Tables.

“It was wonderful to see our Year 13 and 14 students this morning and to be able to congratulate them and wish them well for the future. I am extremely proud of everyone’s determination and overall resilience in what has been another very testing academic year and am very pleased that so many of them will be going on to study at some of the country’s best universities and on the courses of their choice.”

“I would like to pay tribute to all of the staff who have worked extremely hard in very difficult circumstances to help ensure that the needs and aspirations of all students have still been met. I would also like to thank parents and carers for their continued support of the school.”

Among those celebrating both results and university places are Liam, who achieved three A* grades and will be going to Cambridge University to study English Literature; Grace, who achieved A*, A, A and will be going to Manchester Metropolitan University to study Fashion; Lauren, who achieved three A* grades and will be going to University of Kent to study Sport and Exercise Science, and Lily, who achieved three A* grades and will be going to the BIMM Institute to study Musical Theatre and Dance.

Other university destinations include: Exeter, York, Nottingham, Brighton, Reading, Winchester and Portsmouth. However, there are also a number of students who have been successful in securing apprenticeships and employment with local and national companies, once again reflecting the diverse nature of different pathways that Homewood students follow.
