You will be working closely with students aged 11–16 years who have a range of learning difficulties and/or disabilities. The successful candidate will be supporting their learning experiences according to need; this involves working with the classroom teachers to help students with reading, writing, verbal communication literacy/numeracy and mobility. Applications from a wide-ranging background including caring/nursing would be welcomed.
The successful candidate will be part of our SEN team working with students who experience difficulties in accessing main stream education. The appointed HLTA will work with individuals and small groups, planning, preparing and delivering lessons sometimes using distance learning or computer aided techniques. The post holder will be expected to progress students’ learning and with other professionals support pupils’ social, emotional and physical well-being. Part of the role will involve administration for examination access arrangements.
Initiatives include Key Stage 3 TOTAL Curriculum based on cross curricular delivery of SOW, Key Stage 4 courses commencing in Year 9 and mixed age tutor groups with an active curriculum enrichment programme and timetabled periods of advice and guidance. We are a well established Arts College and are also designated a Vocational Second Specialism School.

We are looking for a colleague who can offer French up to and including GCSE level. The ability to offer either Spanish or German or to teach at A level would be an advantage.
