The Drama Department thrives on expression and creativity. Our aim is to encourage students to become confident and creative who can shine independenly as well as work successfully in a team. Previous school productions have included The Crucible, Much Ado about Nothing and Grease - to name just a few!
Following on from our hugely successful trips to Lake Garda, Italy over the last six years, we are planning on running a trip back next year. Click here for the Permission Slip, Parental Consent for Swimming Form and the Code of Conduct.
Begin your festive fun at Homewood School with a week of a variety of dazzling family entertainment. Homewood Schools’ Drama Department’s extracurricular club, the Sinden Youth Theatre Company, is presenting its annual week long production which is comprised of three shows this year.
Tuesday 29th and Wednesday 30th November evenings have a combined programme of the KS3 Drama club’s, (the Sinden Stars), production of ‘Beauty and the Beast’ adapted by Kathryn Schultz Miller along with our Schools’ Shakespeare 30 minute version of ‘The Taming of the Shrew’.
Thursday 1st and Friday 2nd December sees our Sinden Youth Seniors perform the longer length play of ‘Our Country’s Good’ by Timberlake Wertenbaker which is about the First Fleet of convicts and their gaolers who were sent to Australia. This play follows their hilarious and also tragic trials and tribulations with coping with life in an alien land whilst attempting to stage the first ever play in the convict colony.
‘Students have been working incredibly hard on all three productions and are extremely excited about performing to the public,’ said Mrs Tracey Aitken Principal Teacher of Drama.
Shows are on at the Sinden Theatre, Homewood School, Tenterden and start at 7pm. Tickets are £7 adults and £5 concessions and available from the Sinden Theatre box office during the day or please contact Dave Hutton at the box office on 01580 763826 or dhutton@homewood.kent.sch.uk
