Public Services refer to services provided by a government for the benefit of its citizens. These are normally services that are available to all citizens, for the benefit of the society they live within. It is often the case that the vast majority of citizens would not pay individually for the service but do want the end result. This course looks at a range of organisations including the Armed Forces, Police, Fire and Rescue Service as well as the NHS, education and the council. Students learn about careers in these organisations and develop the skills which are vital to these services as well as to most careers. Skills include teamwork, communication, leadership, conflict management to name a few. The qualification is assessed 100% by coursework which takes the form of physical activity as well as written work, presentations and role plays.
