The Life skills course has run at Homewood school for two years, this BTEC course is for Year 11 students only, is a level 2 qualification and primarily aimed at those students who are seriously contemplating leaving the school at the end of Year 11. It appeals to students as it is 100% coursework based and has a wide range of varied units. Lifeskills prepares students for life beyond Homewood with key skills that are needed in the workplace. Some of the units involved are:
- Preparing for an interview
- Searching for job
- Self assessment
- Working in a team
- Communicating solutions to others
- Working with customers
- Solving work related problems
