Signatures Hair and Beauty Salon
On Wednesday 6th March 2013, Homewood School celebrated the opening of the newly furbished Hair and Beauty Salon, ‘Signatures’. Special guest Professional hairdresser Keith Francis cut the ribbon and officially opened the Salon.
Homewood’s Hair & Beauty facilities have been established for seven years and the department are proud to be offering Hair and Beauty facilities to the public. ‘Signatures’ Salon will be open to the public by appointment for a variety of treatments at various times throughout the week. Services will be carried out by trainee Hairdressers and Beauty Therapists who will be supervised by a qualified member of staff at all times. This is a wonderful opportunity for learners to gain the experience of working in a business environment. ‘Signatures’ offer: manicures/pedicures, facials, body massage (ladies only), shampoo and blow-dry, shampoo and set and conditioning treatments. Please refer to the attachment below for further information.
Homewood’s Principal, Mrs S. Lees expressed her thanks to the Beauty Department, Hair and Beauty learners who were smartly dressed in their Signatures tunics and were extremely professional on the evening. She also thanked Catering staff and Year 10 learners who produced a very impressive buffet for guests. Mrs Lees gave a special mention to Katie Pankhurst, Year 9 who chose the name ‘Signatures’ for the Salon. There was an incredibly positive atmosphere on the evening and it was lovely to see parents, learners, staff and guests interacting and celebrating this special event.
Principal Teacher of Applied Learning, Rachel Fagg says she’s “Excited for the future of the Department and is looking forward to establishing ‘Signatures’ in the local community.”
