Sinden Youth Theatre Company

Sinden Youth Theatre Company is Homewood School’s official theatre/ drama club. The Sinden Youth Theatre Company was set up to ensure that all students can have access to the excellent facilities available at Homewood since it became a Performing Arts College. Students are involved in a wide range of major productions each year which develop their teamwork, technical and dramatic skills. Therefore with the emphasis on bringing work up to public performance standards Sinden Youth Theatre operates more as a resident theatre company in professional theatre. Students work together as a cast for shows and are required to audition for these. Auditions normally take a workshop format and aim to be inclusive.

Productions often use ensemble techniques in order to involve as many actors as possible. Previous shows over the years have included The Caucasian Chalk Circle, The Last Resort, Spamlet, Strictly Fairytale Come Dancing, O2 Shakespeare Project -The Merchant of Venice, Antigone, Peter Pan and The Crucible which is coming up in November. In addition to these performances we also enter a group for the Schools Shakespeare Festival each year and also have a KS3 Sinden Juniors group who will be performing a pantomime in the new year.
