About Rye
Rye Mini-School consists of the following departments:
The Rye Mini-School Office can be found on the ground floor of C Block.
Maths
Key Stage 3 Maths is taught within the TOTaL Curriculum, mostly taking place in T Block. Key Stage 4 and 5 is predominantly taught in the newly refurbished G block, where teachers make use of interactive Whiteboards.
English
As with Maths, Key Stage 3 English is taught within T Block during TOTaL Curriculum lessons. Key Stage 4 and 5 English is taught in C Block.
Total Curriculum
In Key Stage 3, English and Maths are part of the TOTaL Curriculum programme (Task Orientated Thinking and Learning) in T Block. Other subjects included are ERS, Geography, History, and ICT. Students learn through different themes such as Freedom and the Environment. Students use technology in many of their classes and are assessed on 21st Century skills, including: Literacy, Numeracy, ICT and Citizenship as well as English, ERS, Geography, History and Maths skills.
